New Member – David Lloyd

Welcome to our new member David lloyd.  Here are a few facts about him:

He completed the 1 year full-time MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies at Strathclyde University and graduated in November.

He is based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

He has a special interest in Tasmanian Conduct records and Indents. He used these extensively in his Dissertation, which was based on a small group of men who were involved in the 1842 Pottery Riots. These men were convicted of various offences and received transportation sentences to Van Diemen’s Land. He also has a passion for palaeography.

He hopes to go into business next year and is open-minded at the moment with regard to which type of work he will be taking on.

  1. Back in 2014 I had a client who was descended from one of the 1842 rioters – Jarvis Phillips. I would be fascinated to know what information David has found out about him.
