Meet the Speakers – Audrey Collins
Audrey is giving a short paper at RQG conference 2021 on “Hidden history: Tales of everyday life in Newspaper Advertisements.”
Audrey has been researching her own family history (and other people’s) for more than 30 years. After several years as a freelance researcher, she started work at the Family Records Centre in 2002, and for the last 10 years has been The National Archives’ Family History Specialist.
She is a regular speaker at family history events in the UK and worldwide, and is the co-author of ‘Birth, Marriage & Death Records’ with Dave Annal. She had the good fortune to live near the Newspaper Library when it was housed at Colindale, which led to her interest in newspaper research.
