Jane is based in Leeds, West Yorkshire and runs her own family history research business (Jane Sheehan Family History Research) as well as being a tutor with the IHGS.

She was awarded the Diploma in Genealogy (the first ever awarded with a distinction) from the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) in 2017.

Jane is an Associate Member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA) and also a member of the Guild of One Name Studies.
