Future Plans:
Les was appointed Director of Education with the IHGS, The School of Family History, in January 2017 and has been extremely busy converting LMentary Family History courses to IHGS distance learning courses. His three courses Awaken (Elementary) Broadening (Intermediate) and Completion (Advanced) now form part of the IHGS portfolio of courses. The plan is to introduce a family history module for overseas students wishing to trace their UK ancestors. The entire project will complete in August of this year. Then his attention will turn to the review of the IHGS Higher Certificate in Genealogy Correspondence Course.
Events in the immediate future are:
Les starts his fourth two-year IHGS Higher Certificate in Genealogy Course in Petersfield on Monday 16 April – aiming for the June 2020 exams.
He starts his sixth IHGS Diploma in Genealogy Mentoring Course in September 2018 and he is running a full-day module in Petersfield on Wednesday the 13 June. The programme is practical based and will include methodology, problem solving and formatting a family tree.Details of all three can be found on his website.
His Military Records full-day module will go ahead on Monday the 23 April at the IHGS Canterbury and his full-day practical module ‘How to draw a pedigree using your computer’ will be held at the IHGS Canterbury on Saturday 16 June.
