New RQG Member – Lorna Kinnaird
Lorna is based in Edinburgh and has her own genealogy business Dunedin Links. She has PG Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde and is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. She is currently studying Licentiateship at IHGS. Her main interests are Scottish Militia Records; Caledonian Asylum Petitions from 1819-1923; The Sasine Register and the Register of Deeds; anything to do with the Napoleonic Wars and Scots migration; Finding Scots anywhere in the UK; Scottish estate records – and Aberlady Village in East Lothian.
Lorna found out an interesting fact about her family which sees her mtDNA showing links to Torryburn in Fifeshire for at least 500 before arriving in Midlothian. Her maternal line was in Torryburn (Fife) for 500 years, then further back through to West Morland with the Edison/Addeson and Josell lines to at least 1531.
