New RQG Member – Sally Benevides Hopkins

Sally has achieved is the Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde (2022) and is based in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada; about an hour north of Halifax.
Areas of interest are family migration from Scotland to Upper and Lower Canada from the 1700s to the early 20th century, and migration between the Azores, New Bedford, Massachusetts and Bermuda. Sally has researched stories of those who survived the Halifax Explosion of 1917 and has also done extensive research into Jewish families in eastern Europe from the mid-1800s until post WWII.
