Description
Research
I offer family history research and written reports tailored to client needs. Based in Suffolk, I am within easy reach of several local archives, including all three branches of Suffolk Record Office and those further afield in Norfolk and Essex. I am also prepared to travel to more remote locations as required.
Education
I have designed and deliver a suite of workshops aimed at providing:
- sound understanding and practical application of the primary research techniques and information sources used by genealogists.
- an appreciation of the key historical events and social conditions that may have influenced and shaped the lives of your ancestors.
- an alternative perspective on your own life and personal values.
These workshops not only cover core genealogical records sets but also encourage participants to think about the unique sequence of events and relationships leading to their own birth. My approach also stimulates discussion about the major influences on our ancestors’ lives that may have shaped our individual personalities.
In addition to ‘classroom’ based education, I also deliver talks on a range of genealogical topics (for example ‘An Introduction to Heraldry) and undertake ‘one to one’ coaching.
