Michael W. McCormick leads the team at Family Line Investigations LLC, located near the famous Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Michael has a track record as a forensic genealogist locating United States next-of-kin when almost no information is known, determining the town of origin for immigrants and tracing their lines into their homelands, and solving or making significant progress on many kinds of difficult United States research cases. By applying his broad knowledge, penchant for learning, and dedication to his clients he has had successful research experiences on a broad range of specialties.
Recently Michael served six years as an executive and full-time forensic genealogist for a firm processing well over one hundred cases each year. Michael earned a master’s degree in genealogy from the University of Strathclyde, interned with the largest genealogy non-profit (FamilySearch), and is on the Remote Adjunct Faculty for BYU-Idaho’s associate’s degree in Family History Research. Michael has been awarded the Accredited Genealogist (AG) credential, with the International Commission for Accredited Genealogists.
