Description

Hilary’s childhood was steeped in stories passed down through generations, bolstered by a treasure trove of family photos dating back to the 1800s. However, it was the revelation of a detailed family tree, meticulously crafted by her grandfather’s cousin, that truly ignited her passion, transforming a casual interest into a lifelong pursuit. Now, her day job doubles as her hobby – delving into family histories! And whether it’s undertaking the research or advising the client on how to do it themselves, Hilary loves what she does.

Hilary is part of the Genealogy Advisory team at the National Archives of Ireland, a role she previously held for many years at the National Library of Ireland.
