Description

With over 40 years’ experience in genealogical research, Alison Spring specialises in Scottish family history. She is particularly well versed in searching birth, marriage and death records as well as poor law, electoral, and church records.  Previous research clients include authors, media organisations, and family finding support groups, as well as private individuals.  She is one of Glasgow City Archives’ listed researchers at the Mitchell Library.

She has taught college and university courses in genealogy and can be contacted regarding presentations and talks at conferences and other meetings.  She is happy to cover subjects such as pre-1855 Scottish research, Glasgow poor relief records, and her favourite topic, family history on a budget.  If you would like her to teach or present on other subjects please do get in touch with her.
