Description

Ruth was a Scots lawyer for over 25 years, largely as a partner managing teams of litigators.  On retiring, she studied Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies at the University of Strathclyde and now holds a Postgraduate Diploma.  As well as the Register of Qualified Genealogists, she is a member of the Scottish Genealogy Society and a number of local family history societies in England and Scotland.

Over 20 years of researching family histories in the UK and abroad, Ruth has developed particular expertise with Scottish sources.  Along with history, she has an interest in languages, with some knowledge of French and Spanish.  She now accepts commissions for research of family and house histories through her business, Yew Tree Genealogy.  Ruth lives with her Musician husband and Labrador Retriever in rural Perthshire.
