Note that approved applicants for membership (not students) become corporate members of the Register of Qualified Genealogists. This is a democratic organisation: each member has a vote and can participate in controlling the company at the AGM. As this is a company limited by guarantee, not by shares, members are guarantors not shareholders and each has a liability, limited to £1. See the Articles of Association for further details.

Annual membership charges are £50 for members and £20 for student members and are payable once the application has been approved. Student members upgrading to full membership will pay the full membership fee, less a discount for any unused student membership.

    What happens next?
    On submitting this form, your application will be considered by the membership committee, normally within 21 days. If successful, you will receive a request to pay the appropriate subscription. Once paid, you will receive an invoice confirming payment and a separate welcome letter.
