Joanne is a professional genealogist based in Staffordshire, West Midlands, UK. She has completed an MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies with the University of Strathclyde and is currently undertaking PhD research in History with Genealogical Studies.
Joanne has a keen interest in local and social history, researching the people behind industry, business and occupations in the 18th and 19th centuries. Her PhD topic focuses on women who were involved in the temperance movement: https://temperancehistory.com
Her own family history concentrates on Wales, the Midlands, Lancashire, Yorkshire, and the US.
Joanne is a former Director of RQG (2023-2025), and is a professional HR generalist and a member of the CIPD.
