Mitchell, Alison
Genealogist
Description
A lifetime’s passion for family history and research into my own past eventually led me to undertake Strathclyde University’s MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies. While all aspects of genealogy and social history are of great interest to me, my areas of special interest are the records of workhouses and apprenticeships and the individual stories that they can tell us.
I have experience of undertaking research using records from many parts of the world, including the UK, US, Canada and Australia. Scottish research and research related to Staffordshire are of particular interest to me.
I am based in Staffordshire with easy access to the archives of that county as well as of Birmingham, Manchester and surrounding areas. I carry out online and archive research into families and buildings.
