Description
I am a Qualified Genealogist based in Welshpool, Powys, Wales. My lifetime interest in genealogy and family research led to me to undertake the Master of Science in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies at the University of Strathclyde.
My Diploma project examined the lives and origins of Shropshire dentists from 1840 to 1925. My current Masters’ dissertation is focussing on Foreign and Commonwealth dentists on the United Kingdom Dentist Register from 1879 to 1935. My MSc is due for completion in June 2026.
I have a special interest in the lives of medical practitioners and associated healthcare workers. Speaking engagements to date, centring on historial healthcare practitioners, have included talks for Shropshire Archives, the Society of Genealogists (London), the British Society for the History of Science, and the Lindsay Society for the History of Dentistry.
To expand my skills and scope as a historical researcher and genealogist with an interest in healthcare workers, I am concurrently undertaking the Diploma in the History of Medicine at the Society of Apothecaries, London. This course of study is scheduled to be completed by July 2027.
I provide contracted genealogical services for Historic Productions as a YourTour researcher and Guide. I am also the Director of English and Australian Studies at the International Institute of Genealogical Studies. I also volunteer at Shropshire Archives for the Shropshire Family History Society.
I am not currently undertaking any private genealogical research commissions
