Phillips, Jenni
Genealogist
Description
I am a qualified genealogist based in Cardiff, Wales. I began researching my own ancestry over 15 years ago and started to pursue postgraduate qualifications in 2019. My Diploma project focused on Chancery cases from Somerset in the late sixteenth century. I am particularly interested in south Wales and south-west England, with a burgeoning enthusiasm for early modern research.
I am a committee member for Glamorgan Family History Society (Cardiff branch) and Roath Local History Society. Between 2014 and 2021 I was editor of the P*rr*tt Society (one-name study) journal, Family Notes. I am also a member of Bristol & Avon, Somerset & Dorset and Weston-super-Mare Family History Societies.
Speaking engagements to date, on a variety of genealogical topics, have included talks for family and local history societies, Glamorgan Archives, THE Genealogy Show and RootsTech.
At present I am continuing to pursue academic qualifications in genealogy and, as such, I am not currently available for private client work.
