Description

I am a qualified genealogist, with over 25 years experience in family history research. I hold an MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies with distinction from the University of Strathclyde. I am dedicated to assisting individuals in uncovering their ancestral roots, and welcome enquires from potential clients.

Located in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, I have easy access to archives in Newcastle, Northumberland and Durham, as well as Local and Family History Centres throughout the North East. However, my services are not limited by geographical boundaries, as I am willing to travel across the UK to meet my clients’ needs.

I offer a wide range of genealogical services, including:

  • Assisting in uncovering family mysteries and tracing elusive ancestors.
  • Conducting thorough and detailed investigations, drawing from a variety of primary and secondary sources.
  • Providing fully referenced, well-crafted narrative reports and family tree charts.
  • Researching the histories of houses and buildings.
  • Providing a photography service for buildings, graves, monuments and local landmarks.
  • Retrieving archive documents.

Specialising in the analysis of poor law, workhouse, and asylum archive documents, I provide valuable insights into past social history and welfare systems. Additionally, my expertise in local history enables me to place family narratives in a broader historical context.
