Brambill, Deborah
Professional genealogist and local history researcher
Description
I am an experienced genealogist, family history researcher and local historian based in Nottinghamshire.
I have a particular interest in the East Midlands counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire. I can help you with:
– Family research on one or more surname branches
– Bespoke projects
– Review of existing research
– Record look-ups and research at regional archives
– Transcription of old documents
– DNA analysis
Nottinghamshire Archives and the University of Nottingham’s Manuscripts and Special Collections archive are within easy reach. I am also conveniently located to access archives in Derbyshire and Lincolnshire as well as being able to do research at national repositories such as The National Archives.
I have a deep interest in our social history and love exploring the records left by our ancestors. That is why I know that each family’s back story is unique. Putting research into context is key to bringing those stories alive. Discovering the events that influenced a person’s life and where they lived is vital to deepening our understanding.
I am committed to the highest genealogical standards and on-going professional development. To this end, I gained the Higher Certificate from the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) in 2024 and the IHGS Diploma in Genealogy in 2025. I am also an Associate member of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives).
