Description
My main genealogical interests are family orientated, focusing primarily on my ancestors in the Somerset and Devon areas. I was lucky enough to know all 4 of my grandparents, and 2 of my great grandparents, well into adulthood for the most part. I grew up hearing stories and family rumours from a young age. I believe this is where my passion for genealogical research first began. I have some experience with DNA testing for genealogical purposes, having completed the Ancestry DNA test myself. Both my parents have also completed tests and I now manage their accounts as well as my own. Through this I have found many DNA matches all over the world, principally in the UK, but also in Canada, Australia and North America. I am now in regular contact with quite a few of these matches and have proven and disproven some of the family rumours I had been told by my grandparents. I am also working with a second cousin in Canada attempting to find the illusive father of my great aunt’s child!
